Hi,
I have been running Jaguar for 6 months on this S900
with an IBM UltraStar SCSI drive, G3 zif carrier 440
mhz and 400+ megs RAM.
 The S900 boots OS9 just
fine from the drive, but each attempt to boot OS X
using XPostFacto fails, and the computer ultimately
boots up into OS9 after timing out in the OS X boot
process.

George,

The problem may well be the SCSI drive. Check to make sure of the
termination on it. I installed Jaguar on my S900 this past week on an 80
GB WD ATA that is on a Ahard 6260M ATA 66 card in slot #4. Another thing
is you might have better luck using XPostFacto 3.0.a4 which you can get
by joining the forum at http://eshop.macsales.com/OSXCenter/XPostFacto/
only those that register and pay the $10.00 fee can download it. I tried
using 2.2.5 with no luck and it went smoothly with the latest version.

Another thing is make sure you format the WD HD with the drive setup in
9.1 otherwise you will not get anywhere. I would move the video card to
slot #2 and if you have a USB/Firewire card in the machine remove it
until you have completed the installation. Put the USB card in Slot #1
and the ATA 66 card in either slot #3 or slot #4.

these suggestions work.
