no, I tried the Mashita and two older Apple SCSI CD-ROM's. The CD-ROM is the only unit in the SCSI chain and I connect and terminate it thoroughly (last connector etc.), then I boot from the harddisk. The CD shows up on the desktop but when I click on it the machine freezes. It's a little better with the external SCSI bus and a Yamaha CD burner: I was able to load a couple of Word documents onto the harddrive, but I cannot even install the software for my scanner. Also, I tried Apple CD/DVD, CD ROM Toolkit and CD Sunrise with not much difference between them (the Apple seems to be a little slower). Could it really be the SCSI cable Umax uses like it was mentioned today? Or should I go the USB or Firewire route?
