Hi Phillip,

Thank you for the information and offer of experimentation. There's no need to test the card in lower slots. Or rather, testing would provide good information from which the list would benefit, but I already ordered one, so at this point the results of your test would be moot for me. :-)

There's an outfit at getlaptop.com which has the Mac 6280 for $69, which is $6 less than OWC, but their cheapest shipping is $10 which is $4 more than OWC and OWC provides 2 day UPS whereas getlaptop.com's $10 shipping is UPS ground.

So for $2 less total, I got somewhat slower shipping. But getlaptop.com also has the PC version of the 6280 for $40, and the additional card did not increase the shipping cost any, so I ordered one of those as well for funs and grins and to see how convertible it may be.

Getlaptop.com also has the Mac 6880 RAID capable card for $129. I don't know what OWC's price on that one is. At microlandusa.com the PC version of the 6880 is $50.

Amusingly, Acard will sell you the PC version of the 6280 for $30 direct........but the shipping is $35. :-)

Hey Jeff, tested the Acard 6280 in slots "C" and "E" and it boots, OS9 (9.1 & 9.2.2) and OSX (10.2.8)
Slot A - Radeon for Mac, and MachFire & USB cards in the lower slots (interchanged slots C thru F)
