I've put in a few LVD IBM 9.1 gig drives a long time ago into my ol' 8500
and a lone S-900. So I can only answer a few issues. The power cable is
the same as your HD cable only maybe not long enough, adaptors are cheap
and easy to find, usually. Sometimes it's part of a "Y" adaptor, that
works too. I had to try several termination possibilities before I found
one to work, correctly. Having the drive at the end of the string
physically, the last device, seemed to answer most of the questions about
being recognized. Mine I think had internal termination and I left that
"terminated" rather than not. That probably brings up more questions than
answering, but hey this is a list and the info is worth what you pay for it.
Good Luck,
Walt
