The combo card issue steered me away from them and I had been using a Firewire-only card in slot 3. Got it mainly for external storage needs. Except for needing the tweak down a notch the throughput speed, basically plug and play. Recently picked up a 5-port USB 2.0 card and plopped it in slot 4 and it is running fine, although at 1.1 speed because I'm at 9.1. Painless.
