Right now I have my two Macs (Beige AIO and S900) hooked up via cable to the linksys wireless router. They are both connecting to the internet.

That's great! The real fun begins when you have to download some big update. You will really appreciate the speed.

Now my problem is file sharing. I have turned on file sharing and designated folders in both computer as shared folders. When I go to the chooser and and open appleshare, the column on the right is blank. Any suggestions?

I don't remember any more, but I "think" you were using OS9. If so, you need to set up a user's group in the control panel inside the system folder. (name of group, individual machine name, password, etc) Also make sure AppleTalk is turned on, and set to Ethernet in the control panel. If you are using OS10 there is a tab for AppleTalk in the network settings in the system preferences.

If you still have problems, dig around on Apple's site in the support area. You should be able to do a search for "File Sharing."

There is also the possibility that your router does not support AppleTalk, as a few don't.
