Personally, I don't think it will ever happen. There can't be much demand, and 144 megs RAM is simply not enough to run OS X. With the prices of used G3 and G4 towers dropping nicely, there's really no reason to try to shoehorn OS X onto a C600 any longer.
Just my opinion, of course. I don't know what the "official" status is.
