The official word at UCC, once we got over the denial, was the Mac OS
Licensing Extension was essentially useless. It would [1] make UCC's own
graphic appear, instead of Apple's, in the "About this Computer" (?) window,
and [2] it would ease installation of some of the basic free utilities that
were licensed by Umax for inclusion on the SuperMacs. But the ReadMe's came
with serial numbers that would let you install them anyway....

Later, there were signs that it actually caused problems. I can't recall
any specifics (it was seven years ago), but we all uninstalled it internally
and didn't miss it a bit.

That said, Sybil asked for a copy today and I found the last two versions in
my 11/98 site archive. I'll be glad to put them up on the SuperMac Insider
site if anyone else still wants them. Does anyone else still want them?
