I need to go to a more robust video card, and the next choice is the Radeon

The documentation clearly states that if you want to run OSX, you must have
at least a Blue & White G3. That's a problem, as one machine is an S900, and
the other is a 9600. So...

That's not quite true. I have a stock Radeon 7000 bought from OWC and it works just fine on my S900 in both 9.1 and OSX. Now there was a time when that was not so. Any OSX that is 10.1.5 or above is fine though. The older versions do not work. There is also a tweek you should do in the input/output devices setup on XPostFacto in order to get screen output during the OSX boot process (The exact tweek slips my mind at the moment).

1. I either go with the Radeon 7000 and stick with OS9, or...

2. Buy a 64mb PC version of the Radeon 7000 and reflash it. I know that this
can be done and have seen the instructions, but I also know that there is
risk involved. The cost of the 64mb PC card is about the same, $70.

I got a 32mb PC Radeon from Newegg a while ago for about $40 that works just fine in my J700. There was some discussion a month back though that the currently available PC cards weren't flashable for some reason (something about the flash memory chips) so you'd best be careful there.

If you've followed along this far, I need some advice.

-- Have you ever seen a workaround that allows an S900 to run the Radeon
7000 and OSX?

None needed except for OSX 10.1.5 or above and XPostFacto

-- Have you had a positive experience with reflashing?

Yes.

Are there yet other solutions?

Find an old ATI Orion (But I don't think they go above 16mb)

Otherwise, it seems that I'm stuck in OS9.

Thanks for any help you can offer.
