Hi there: Is it possible for me to re-use either my nice new HD or the
memory sticks from my trusty C500 in the new-to-me blue & white G3 a friend
gave me recently? Hoping so.

Lucky you we could all use friends like that! well Pastor Mac has already answered this part and if you were using the hard drive in the C500 it's bound to be ide so will work fine.
Also, is there any kind of an adapter for using ADB things (like the mouse)
in one of the USB ports in the G3? It has no mouse and I don't think I'll be
able to use both the mouse I have and any printer I have at the same time,
since there seems to be only one ADB port in the G3. If I have to buy a
mouse what kind should I get and what should I expect to pay for it? And is
a second-hand mouse worth it? Cash is certainly an issue, as you can
probably tell.

As always, my hearty pre-springtime thanks for all opinions.

Well you might be a bit confused here. No printer that I know of uses an ADB port. So 1 ADB port is usually ok for most people as usually a keyboard is plugged into the ADB port and most keyboards have an ADB port on them so the mouse can be plugged into the keyboard. If using an USB keyboard then you can just plug the mouse into the ADB port. If you have an ADB mouse your likely fine but if you have to buy one USB mice would perhaps be easier and cheaper most likely. I don't know if the B&W machine has a serial port which is what most older machines have. If it doesn't then you will need an USB printer or USB to serial adapter or some other way of hooking up an old serial printer. You may also have modem issues if no serial port on the machine. Best of luck with your new toy ! Will S
