Hi there: Is it possible for me to re-use either my nice new HD or the
memory sticks from my trusty C500 in the new-to-me blue & white G3 >a friendgave me recently? Hoping so.

Hi Bill;

Search and see if you have MacTracker. It will have most of the info you need at Macktracker:Desktops:Power Macintoshes:Power Macintosh G3 ( Blue and White).
From there I copy:

Maximum RAM=1GB
Number of sockets= 4-PC100 3.3 volt 168-pin SDRAM
ADB=1
Serial=none
SCSI=PCI card(Optional)
USB=2
Firewire=2
Ethernet= 10/100Base-T
Sound=16-bit stereo headphone jack

Your new toy has a 100MHz bus and with impossible heatsinking could run the PowerLogix G3 900 (750FX) at 20X= 2,000 MHz, Maybe with a water cooling system (dream on). there are reports of 1gig speed with that machine.
You lucky dawg,

ernie
