Each IDE drive/device will either have a switch or set of pins/jumper that needs to be moved to 
change from Master to Slave. You can't have two devices as Master on the same IDE cable, so one has 
to be designated as Slave. If you need specific instructions for a specific drive go to the maker's 
web site. They should have the settings as part of the general information about the drive. Paul C.
