Bill,

If you are concerned about the recognition issue, you can cover your bases
simply by installing the drive as before but first boot to a Mac OS CD.
Then you can reinstall the OS onto the drive while in the new computer. Or
if you have another drive already installed in the G3, you can boot from
that and still do the OS reinstall from CD.

Make sure NOT to select Clean Install or you will wipe all your data. Also
it would be a good thing to Update the Disk Drivers on the transferred
drive. Of course like with any major change, it would be good to backup
your data first.

After you have reinstalled the OS, don't forget to Bless your system if you
are using OS9.# or earlier. That is, drag the System File of the new drive
to the desktop and then back into the System Folder. Then you can reboot to
the new drive in your Startup Control Panel. Then on the reboot, I would
suggest rebuilding the desktop if in OS9.# or earlier.

I think you will be OK with the present partitions, just make sure you do
the OS reinstall on whichever partitions presently have an OS.

I think this should cover your bases. If anybody else has anything to add
or correct, please chime in.

Dave
