Hi, me again. I am getting confused here about possibly moving the 20g HD
from the C500 to the B&W G3. A friend locally told me the other day that
this is not a good idea, because the G3 may well get confused and not figure
out the status of the new HD. He said something about CPU recognition, that
I will mess things up if I just move it rather than installing everything I
want on the current HD in the G# (12g, partitioned in thirds; I understand
the idea of partitioning but know absolutely nothing about how it works or
how to do it).

My plan had been to move the HD so as not to have to re-install all the apps
and copy all the data. Is that short-cut one I should avoid, meaning I
should in fact re-install and copy everything? I did not follow everything
my friend was saying so am turning to you-uns as my usual source of good
reliable information explained (most of the time) in a way that even I can
get.
