Hi Adrian, With all due respect, quite the contrary is true. Examining the source will reveal where the fault is in the code so that one can bring it to the attention of the page owner, and/or devise a work around. Besides, it is considered poor web design not to provide alternative access to the site--links at the top and bottom of page, use of <alt> tag to provide text descriptions of graphical files, etc.--and extremely ignorant not to provide html alternatives to Flash content. More often than not, the broken QT icon is the result of _not_ using the embed tag, but rather some less than clean JScript or SMIL. MSIE will usually deal with all but the most recent "innovations" to JScript; dealing with non-standard or, shudder, streaming SMIL is quite another matter. Sometimes WiMP [sic] for Mac can manage it, iff a link to the SMIL file itself can be determined. If access is absolutely crucial, consider using Win XP on Virtual PC; sometimes that's the only thing that can deal with such sloppiness. Peace, paul -- Paul F.
