You've both confused me. I do use DiskWarrior- it has recovered corrupted Hard Drives and rebuilt permissions for me. However, I don't see anywhere in its instructions where it mentions defragmentation of a drive(optomizing). I just received OWC's most recent email sale notice and the "previous" version of Norton Systemworks is on sale for $9 , $14 to my door with 2 day shipping. It is good for OS 8 thru Jaguar. If defragmentation isn't the "cure" for me then I know the problem is in Netscape, as my machine was much faster downloading photos from the web when NS was first installed. I do dump the cache regularly and have given it more memory. That is why I think it might be a drive defragmentation problem. I'll know in a few days. Paul C

Is Norton the only software sold to defrag a HD in OS9.1? TechTool 4 is for OSX and offers defragmentation. Are there any other alternat ways to deftrgment a hard drive? Paul C
