Use either J1 or J6 to set the SCSI ID, but not both. A single jumper across
pins 1 and 2 on the right hand side of either jumber bay should give you ID
1.

According to Hoyle <grin>, the most reliable way to set up a 68 pin drive is
with a terminated 68 pin cable--it just works. As Jeff observes, the next
best is to put the drive at the physical end of the chain and see that it is
properly terminated. With many of the Seagate drives this involves
explicitly setting the *source* of the term power, as well as the option to
terminate the chain. That, as well as other options, can be set at J2--I
recommend placing a jumper across pins 2 and 4 [note that both are even]
which draws the term power from the SCSI bus, a jumper across pins 15 and 16
to enable termination, and across 7 and 8 to enable parity checking.
