I'm curious to see if anyone can offer any insight into the differences
I'm seeing.

I have a Umax C500 w/ 144 megs of ram and a 240 MHz 603. I also have a
Motorola Starmax 3000 running 80 megs of ram and a 180 MHz 603. Both
systems are running Yellow Dog Linux though the C500 is running 3.0.1 and
the Moto is running 2.2

I'm rendering a terrain analysis (line of sight / coverage) and the C500
is taking a full minute to minute and a half longer to do it's analysis
than the Moto (both are computing the same analysis/data). According to
LEM, they're both based off the Tanzania mobo and both are supposed to be
running at the same bus speed. Aside from the install of YDL both systems
are other configured the same.

Anyone have any insight as to why the C500 running @ 240MHz is a tad bit
slower?

Incidentally the same analysis running 4+ minutes faster than the Moto on
a 200MHz 604e. The scary part is that the 604 system is only 4x slower
than a 2GHz P4. Even scarier is an iMac G3/350 turned in a 2x slower
performance than the P4. Needless to say, I'm curious to see how this
cranks on a G4, nevermind a G5 :)
