With the proper control panel for the video card, there is a check box for turning of Sync-on-Green.
Some folks have had problems with this check box not staying checked but I never did with the Twin Turbo 4mb or the Ultimate Rez 8 mb cards.
I suppose it's possible, tho I don't even know what card it currently has. OS 8.5 doesn't have System Profiler. I know it still has that slight cast to it even in BeOS, not just the Mac OS. I wouldn't think sync-on-green would be an issue with a VGA monitor tho. I'm using the VGA port on the card, and not the Mac video port with an adapter.
