XPF wouldn't allow the install without an 8 gig partition, something Apple's installer was happy to let me do as my machine is still supported for Jag. Since XPF is required for an S900, how did you get it to install?
I wish I could tell you . . . the installer just ran. Thanks, though for your warning about having it grow to more than 8 gigs. I think I'd read about that, but had forgotten. In the meantime, in an excess of self-confidence, I've managed to mess things up by running Sonnet's Tune-up: now startup hangs on a gray screen with an Apple logo. I haven't thought of a way around yet, except to redo the installation. Not too big a deal - just moderately time-consuming - since I haven't really done any work in Panther yet. If I do go that route, I will take time to make an 8 gig partition, just to be safe!
