I have a ten gig disk and it is a sonnet G3 machine so I was thinking about making it a server for my two quad 700s, my pb 190cs, with intermittent communications with my Pismo.
Has anyone put NetBSD on their C-500 and how did it work? How is it working now and are you using NetaTalk to net to other local machines?

Ahh, someone who has looked beyond the siren song of Linux and found the security and robustness of BSD...

That said, NetBSD will not be easy. The C series had a lot of quircks and if you read carefully the install guide for NetBSD for Macs you'll see the firmware and video issues really stand out. As my C600 was in its death throes I though seriously of going the route you are contemplating but ultimately I settled on FreeBSD on an x86 box. This would also be a good question for the Max list also from Low End Mac.
