Try the CPU card in a different machine?
And trim your posts. You're requoting the list footers.

I don't have another machine that it would fit in.
Just a quick reality check. I've tried all kinds of variations, but
my basic procedure now is the following. Does this sound about right?
(1) Power the machine off.
(2) Disconnect the power cord (have done it at machine and at wall;
does it matter?).
(3) Push the power button to get quick flash and drain.
(4) Remove the battery.
(5) Let sit for from 30 minutes to 12 hours.
(6) Push down the CUDA for 30 seconds.
(7) Reattach power cord.
(8) Push down CUDA again (usually for 3 seconds, but sometimes for 30).
(9) Pray, plead, use "stern" language, dance around.
(10) Power the machine up.
(11) Cry; repeat/try something else.
