Hello all, I've been away for quite a while. My S900 is still spinning
along meeting all of my needs with 9.1 and a G4/375 with an SIIG ultra
133/100 dual port eide PCI card and PCI firewire card, and USB 1.0.
My Pioneer DVD-RW DVR 106D is a scsi
I could put an eide DVD burner on my card as a slave to a hard drive?
Or
should I just look for a replacement burner just like the one that
isn't
working for me (scsi)? Does anyone have any recommendations for me on
a good
replacement burner?
As usual, many thanks,
Bob Robeson
Sorry to hear your DVD burner seems to have died. You should be able to
use an ide burner with your SGII ATA card. However burners seem to work
best as Master not slave, but you could give it a try. I use a Pioneer
DVD-RW 105 ide version in a firewire box. Works great in OS 9.x and OSX
hooked to the Umax machine. xlr8yourmac.com has a listing of drives and
you can see which ones work well in Mac's. Pioneer is one of the best
despite yours failing early. They are seen as Apple Super drives so
everything works well. So do some other drives others maybe able to
tell us which ones they are. Will S
