i don't know what you want to do, but way back when i was going from 8.6
to 9.1, i was able to change from HFS to HFS+ on a drive that already
had multiple partitions without reformating, by simply moving everything
off of one partition, and then (i think) i used the apple drive setup to
make the change from HFS to HFS+ on that one partition. then moving
everything again, doing one partition at a time in similar fashion.
