Well, I went thruthrum all. None of the ones that were
labllabeledin> had anything that jumped out at me as
something that might do what you want. If I could come
up with the name of it, I might do better.

      FWB Hard Disk Toolkit  V3.0 allowed one to create a new volume
on your hard drive without reformatting. I have the user guide here, in
front of me. This software broke with later Mac OS. I don't recall when.
I would have to research that.
