Since you are now booted from another HD, go th the Control Panel,
Startup Drive and select the drive you are now using. then shut off the
computer, plug the corrupted drive back in and restart the computer. You
should now be able to run Disk First Aid or Disk Warrior on the
corrupted drive, as it is not your start up drive. You can always do a
Clean instal of OS9.1 to the corrupted drive(not over the corrupted
one), then DRAG any needed bits from the corrupted OS to the new one.Paul C

Hi Bernie,
I can email you a small system start up folder that you can copy to a floppy
disk and then start your machine with that. It has the hacked CD extension
on it and a set-startup control panel. The folder is exactly 1.3mb and will
just fit onto a floppy.
Or, you might try going to the "set startup disk" control panel on the drive
you are starting with now and select the OS 9 start-up install disk that you
put in your CD drive. When you re-start it should use that system disk to
boot.
I think your problem is most likely very solvable. Send me an email with
your email or snail mail address and I'll get a small start up system to
you, if you want it.
Good luck,
Bob
My Q is how best to correct/reinstall the OS on the primary drive without
destroying its contents? Can I just reinstall the OS over the corrupted OS,
or how else?
Bernie
