We have used http://smarden.org/runit/dependencies.html and http://smarden.org/pape/djb/daemontools/noinit.html methods for dependency management for as long as I can remember. It's simple, straightforward, and works with any system which supports supervising a ./run script. What more is needed and what would making this "first class" add or improve upon? Tj
