On top of the little mail envelope icon to the left of the line

sort of, looks like a hasp. What is this supposed to mean?
At various other times there are other diverse submicroscopic
icons that adorn the envelope icon. Some of them are even dynamic.
Where are these described? I have tried to find them in the help
manual. But haven't had much success.
So please help me find an explanation of:
1) What looks like a submicroscopic hasp on the envelope icon
to the left of the mail account label
2) What looks like a head and shoulders, or a spring clip,
on the upper left corner of the Inbox folder icon to the left
of the Inbox label of my Imap mail account.

a paper click means there is an attachment to the message.

An arrow pointing down means new message.

An arrow pointing to the left means you replied to the message.

There's also one for forwarding.

There a really good thing you can do. Look inside the SM program directory. Inside that you will find a Chrome directory, and from there you should find a file called Classic.jar. Open that file using your zip program, and unzip it to some place.

Now, look at where you unzipped it to. Open the directories up until you come to the folder that has Communicator, Editor, global, messenger, and navigator. Now, take a look under Messenger, and from there you will see a directory called icons. Take a look here and you should see a whole bunch of .gif files. Click on them and take a look at the image, then look at the file name and that should [sort of] tell you what each icon is about. You won't be using all the icons, but most of them are there. Also, if you're using a different theme, then the icons might be different.

Sorry, but I don't know of an easier way.
