Can't stop it, can't move out of it - I have to set there

Try this:
Open Acrobat Reader, go to edit->settings->Internet and set "Display PDF
in browser" to off. That should force it to open it externally, leaving
Seamonkey alone.
In theory..
Adobe reader 8.0 has it under
Preferences | internet
use reader in browser.
