I have a surprising problem. For several sites, including Google, the navigation bar displays the wrong favicon, always Yahoo's. For most others, the favicon displays correctly.

I tried changing my home page from yahoo to another one
for which the favicon displays correctly, no change. I
tried clearing the cache, still no luck.

On my bookmarks personal toolbar folder, the same sites
are set with and show the correct favicons.

My about:config settings are those from Chris'page: http://seamonkey.ilias.ca/browserfaq/Favicons

Any suggestions? I use 1.1.17 version

Have you tried if it behaves the same in a second new profile? (use the Profile Manager to create/manage additional profiles)

btw: SM1.1.18 is out ;-)

Martin,
This is the same behavior I posted about last week. I've
tried all the suggestions people have offered, to no avail.
I tried deleting the problematic bookmark and found the
problem just jumped to another "https:" bookmark. The Icon
is the the problem not the bookmark itself. If I uncheck
"Show Website Icons" on the Appearance page of Preferences
and reboot, the problem is completely gone. The problem will
reappear if putting the check back. I don't really
understand why a reboot is needed instead of just restarting
SM. (Not using Quick Launch) I can't help but wonder if some
of us may have run across something a little viral out there
in internet land causing this, or possibly a buggy helper
application. I reverted back to 1.1.16 which never displayed
this, but it does now! I'm not using any extensions/add-ons
with SM 1.1.17
