Occasionally sm 1.1.9 performs an "illegal operation" and has to be closed, when this happens my bookmarks.html file is reduced to 1kb i/o 140kb and the contents lost. Is there a way to preserve the contents of this file with say a single stroke so that at worst only that day's bookmarks are lost? Good day Richard

you can use the copy function as indicated or as I do from
http://www.educ.umu.se/~cobian/cobianbackup.htm
download cobain backup create a task to copy the whole profile to 'My Documents' I run that as needed daily and I have a second task to copy all 'My Documents' to a separate drive as either a full or incremental backup. Normally this task is run at end of day so I select shutdown and turn off monitor so when it finishes all is turned off

so if your computer crashes you have two ways to recover.
in my case 'My Documents' sits in a separate dive which gives a better recovery benefit and I keep two backup files one last week and one this week just by renaming backup to lastweekbackup I do one more step monthly I do a full backup of 'My Documents' to a usb drive which is kept in my safety deposit box it does take time 7 hours to a usb disk but is done over night

take care now
