All that is well and good, but far more than an average user should have
to do. It's most grievous example of a user selection which was there
previously and removed that I can think of - and such a simple one at
that.

It is set to 'false' by default for good reason.

I understand the risks involved with fooling around with about:config if
one doesn't know what one is doing...workarounds are fine for
experienced users, but not for the masses.

But apparently do not understand the risks associated with html and
javascript in emails. You can of course choose to ignore the default
settings& SeaMonkey/about:config allows you to do that.

/snip/

I understand all this, and in all my email accounts, I have always
viewed in plain text, with js turned off. My use for js in mail/news is
very limited, but it is there.

I guess I am more then a little put off by people trying to protect me
from myself by removing an option that used to exist.

I'm in exactly the same camp as Lee...just let me use the machine as I choose.
