Maybe it's because I keep going back to the same Web sites, but the
reduction brought places.sqlite down from 2.1 MB to 1.9 MB, which is not
not much of an improvement.

Are there any plans to make compression of sqlite databases an interal
capability? It doesn't have to be automatic. It could be at user
selection, similar to how I clear my cache. This should be implemented
not later than when bookmarks are converted to sqlite.

Go to Mozdev at <http://www.mozdev.org/> for quick access to
extensions for Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, and other
Mozilla-related applications. You can access Mozdev much
more quickly than you can Mozilla Add-Ons.
