Try to copy your existing folders to a new profile, does that help?
Ii did have SeaMonkey installed previously probably a year ago, and have
also had ThunderBird on here as well (no longer resident), so I'm
wondering if this is something to do with the profiles.
Yes, your folders are stored in files called inbox, sent, trash etc. in
your profile. Make sure the unwanted ones are gone there, too.
