I tried that for months, I finally gave up and threw the towel on that
one set of code I wrote after people would even shoot down my tries of
improving things. Working on an open source project ought to be fun or
not be done at all. I was far off that, and needed to keep my sanity.
There's other places I can work on that should be more fun, I don't have
to improve those things where I get poison for every step I take.

Is this a problem inside the Mozilla grouping. Or because of what people
outside Mozilla are saying. If inside then it indicates that certain
people with Mozilla have preconceived notions of what supposed to
happen. Not what open source is supposed to be. Not much better than a
commercial product.
Some times you do what for the common good as sense of duty even if its
not pleasurable.
I know I have to do things I don't want or like to do even if its not
fun. For instance during the summer My mother was in the nursing home, I
had to pay all the bills and keep up with bills and receipts. creating
and maintaining That Excel spreadsheet was no fun. as well as the hit it
was taking to my Finances. But I did it out of a love for my mother and
a sense of Duty.
If its out side of Mozilla, say from folks like me (or worse, or
better). That should simply be taken as their way of suggesting what
needs to be done. If its in a harsh tone its their frustration showing
at something that worked liked they wanted it , suddenly not working the
same or being dropped altogether.
