I just loaded Seamonkey v. 2.0.3 over 1.1.17 and seem to have lost
43,000 messages in the Inbox. The install seemed normal and asked if i
wanted to import a range of information, including mail which was selected.
It imported all other boxes and profiles except my Inbox.
Any suggestions appreciated.

John, when you type "loaded Seamonkey v. 2.0.3 over 1.1.17"?? Do you
mean that you installed SM 2 into the exact same location as you had SM
1?? (Hopefully not!!)
By default, SM 2 installs into a different location to that of SM 1.
What the actual locations are, I don't know as I don't do default
installations.) SM 2 then makes a copy of your SM 1 profile for use with
your SM 2. This is so you can "play" with the new version, if you wish,
before moving over, fully, to the new version.
Close SM and do a Windows "Find File and Folders" looking for your
"inbox" (without the quotes) Hopefully, you'll find at least two.
(Bye-the-bye, 43,000 is an awful lot of message to keep in your inbox.
Have you ever considered dividing them up by year and function, or
something??)
Daniel
