Well the subject of your question is about profiles.
So you can manage them through the way I provided.

Sorry but that does not answer my initial questions. "My mail (and everything else of my stuff) does not sit in the profile with the .default ending but in the profile with the .slt ending. How can I go about to correct this? Can I just delete the .default one?"

The object is to find out what profiles SM2 thinks you have. I think it's possible to have SM2 using files in the wrong place, and so sharing the old SM1 locations. I can't do it deliberately, but there seems to be some install issue which confuses the issue.

I would not delete anything unless you know what to backup. You are on Windows, so I would not dare give you more advice than that.
