Same here... however there have been glitches.
The "repeating' seemed to be related to the server requiring a
login/password and then the newsgroup section also asking for one. In
my experience, setting up the server login first, then sequentially
logging into the sections was a one time only process.
Also, (it's been a while) there were problems when different newsgroups
on the same server required different logins and passwords. I think I
remember that this was fixed, but, fwiw, creating a different account
for each news group (i.e. one using dns, one using ip) was a
workaround... more than two, host file time.
