"Secure Authenticated Logon to Our Server:
Before posting any articles to our server you must configure your

Configure SeaMonkey with the server name. Try to fetch news, SeaMonkey
prompts for password.
For Mr Merrill's problem, it may help to know which news server he is
trying to access. Sounds like it is some non-standard affair.
It is news.grc.com, thank you.
You most probably want to use the password manager to store the
password, as password handling for news of both, SeaMonkey and
Thunderbird, *SUCKS*. They prompt for the password over and over and
over again which is one reason, why I tend to change my newsreader.
Prompting for password "over and over?" Are you checking the "Don't ask
me again" checkbox? Thunderbird's own password-keeping has always
worked very well for me, since version 0.2 -- zero-point-two.
I don't use Thunderbird for News (though I have test accounts set up),
preferring a full-featured newsreader that isn't mostly an email client.
