check box for "Empty Trash on Exit" which is not checked. I see nothing
else about "deleting". FWIW, "Leave messages on server" is not checked.
You have to look under the server settings for each specific mail
account. Among the checkboxes, one of them should read something like
"When deleting a message", followed by radio buttons. Check the box,
activate the first radio button (move to) and set the roll-down menu to
Trash.
