Not being there, all I can provide are hunches based on my experience
base. Sorry you are frustrated, but remember that those trying to help
are doing so with almost no concrete clues.
With respect to "why my system?", corrupted or incorrect fonts is one
"system" example. Based on the info you have posted, I no longer think
that this is related to printer drivers since the corruption is visible
in preview before you choose a printer.
Since same messages display correctly on this system using seamonkey,
the best I can do is try and duplicate your setup which I did with very
little info.
I think I narrowed down and pointed to several seamonkey settings which
my experience says may be relevant which you can tweak and experiment
with on your system.

not a path... those are menu steps within seamonkey
