I have selected an email and from the drop down menu Archive and clicked on it. The email disappeared.
Yes, it was moved into the Archives folder of the respective account.
Where?
There's a bug in SeaMonkey 2.0.x: If the Archive target folder structure (by default Archives/year/month I think) didn't exist before, i.e. if it has to be created during archiving, it is not shown in the interface once archiving finishes. You might have to collapse and re-expand your mail account to make it show up. Or you can just restart SeaMonkey (I'm not sure whether reopening MailNews will do).
That bug will be fixed in SeaMonkey 2.1.
How can I get it back?.
AFAIK you can use Undo (Ctrl+Z) directly after archiving. Otherwise you need to find the target Archives folder and in it the message you archived. From there you can move it back using the usual mouse or keyboard actions.
