There doesn't seem to be any instructions and/or 'howto' information
regarding the mailing list subscriptions to this newsgroup & threading.

http://www.seamonkey-project.org/community
https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
http://www.mozilla.org/community/etiquette.html
http://www.mozilla.org/community/forums/

Would it be possible to have any of those pages updated and/or an
additional page for mailing list subscribers advising them how to
properly respond in this group so that their messages are threaded?

The following is not intended in any way to disparage the mailing list
subscribers used as an example[1], particularly since I realize that
some use clients other than Mozilla. However it would be helpful if mail
list subscribers could configure their mail clients so that their
replies stay within the original thread. Example:
Gregory Hicks:
X-Mailer: dtmail 1.3.0 @(#)CDE Version 1.5.7 SunOS 5.9 sun4u sparc
Message-ID:
<mailman.1471.1281215202.23149.support-seamon...@lists.mozilla.org>
Message-ID:
<mailman.1470.1281214940.23149.support-seamon...@lists.mozilla.org>
Message-ID:
<mailman.1474.1281222873.23149.support-seamon...@lists.mozilla.org>

All in reply to:
Subject: Change color of secure address bar
Message-ID: <[email protected]>

[Not singling you out Gregory as others that use the mailing list also
have similar issues, yours were simply the latest examples.]

I would have provided an example as to how the mail list replies can
break threading, but when I went to
https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
To see the collection of prior postings to this list, visit the
support-seamonkey Archives. I get none other than a Google group page:
http://groups.google.com/group/mozilla.support.seamonkey/topics
[Maybe someone should take kairo aside & help him figure out how to run
a proper mailserver ?]

For those that are using the mailing list & wondering what I am talking
about, here are a few examples:
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community/mailinglists
  - Threading
http://linux.sgms-centre.com/misc/netiquette.php#threading
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_forum#Thread

When posters reply outside of the thread, someone replies to the new
thread & then you need to tie multiple threads together to follow the
problem/solution/comments.

Perhaps the best way to communicate with this group (it is a newsgroup)
is to instead use:
news://news.mozilla.org/mozilla.support.seamonkey
instead of the mailing list?
