FWIW, SeaMonkey reports Shockwave Flash 10.1 r53, confirming what Windows says.

You should upgrade:
Shockwave Flash
    Shockwave Flash 10.1 r82

Since the page is demanding version 9 and I have version 10, I don't think that's the issue. Still, I upgraded anyway, and it didn't help. Internet Exploiter still gives me the stupid error message saying I have version 6.88 (hunh??), and SM still shows me the static picture with the play button but won't start.

If WAT.tv is so stupid that it thinks I have v. 6.88, I'll be damned if I "click to upgrade" through them.

Is there something wrong with the code mysoju is using to embed the video? As I said, I can play them fine at the WAT site, so I don't have a bad plugin.

I think it's an issue with the code. If you right click on the 'Play'
icon, you'll see:

WAT.Tv
Settings
Global Settings
About Adobe Flash Player 10

If you click on the WAT.tv - that links you directly to http://www.wat.tv/.

Sure, I can play them directly at wat.tv. But I have to keep coming back to mysoju.com because wat.tv doesn't organize the episodes sequentially and link each one to the previous and next.

Maybe?

Maybe. But it's not specific to this particular video, lots of their videos -- everything from wat -- are afflicted, but vids from tudou.com are not.
