OK, I bit the bullet and upgraded from 1.1.17 to 2.0.10 after a long
while (mostly because of the horror stories I read).
Everything went fine, just fine. No problem with intalling and getting
my profile migrated. Seamonkey 2.x is great... looks just like what I'm
used and operates to the 99.9% of what I'm used to.
But... when I click on the Mail icon, it takes from three to 15 (yes,
FIFTEEN) minutes to open that pane. During that time, all my computer
operations are frozen. Yes, I've compacted the folders. Yes, I've
deleted the *.msf files.
I also have a problem with News. When I click to open the server, it
seems to want to bring in the new messages in ALL the groups all at once
(which is annoying, since I don't want to read all groups subscribed
every day, or every time I open the server. It's also a weird thing
that each day one group is deleted (i.e., unsubscribed) from the server.
OK, that was two problems.
