I only know from long experience. When this first started happening I did the "cc to myself" routine for a while. After gaining some confidence, I just put those outgoing messages in a special folder so that I could follow up with the recipient if they didn't acknowledge my message. Then after hearing from many other users in this newsgroup that this was a harmless bug, I stopped taking any special precautions and have suffered no consequences.
