Accept all images.

Thanks for the suggestion. For both the administrator and limited
account log-ons, SM v.2.x has been set to 'accept all images', as you
recommend, from the beginning. Contrary to the way things worked with SM
v.1.x, the image blocking problem seems to be something peculiar to SM
v.2.x only when logged in to a XP-Home limited account.

This is the only other option I know of to correct this problem.
In the browser enter about:config and in the "Filter" box enter image.
Scroll down to:

mailnews.message_display.disable_remote_image;false

If the above line value is not "false" change it to "false". Double
clicking the boolean value should toggle the value to true or false.

WOW! You obviously know a lot more about how SM is constructed than I do as I had no idea the 'about:config' command existed.

I checked the 'mailnews.message_display.disable_remote_image' line both logged on as administrator and to the limited account. With both logins, the value was originally set to 'false'. Still, images when logged in as administrator but no images when logged in to the limited account.

Looking at the list of lines involving images that came up when I entered 'image' in the 'Filter' box and still logged in to the limited account, I decided to make a SWAG and try changing some of the lines, one at a time. On my first try, I selected 'dom.disable_image_src_set'. With that line set to 'false', the images appeared as they are supposed to.

As I had no idea what I might have messed up by making this change, I logged in as administrator and, as they had all along, the images appeared normally. My wife - who uses the limited account - is now trying every site that she can remember having blocked images to see if the problem is now totally gone.

Accordingly, I think the problem is fixed and I am most, most, appreciative for your guidance.

Henri
