Finding the right place to post these questions has been a challenge.

I'm using SeaMonkey 2.0.4 under Snow Leopard 6.5, primarily for mail
and newsgroups. I would appreciate help with three things:

(1) how to delete permanently delete newsgroup posts that I don't need
cluttering up my hard disk;

(2) why some posts appear in Courier font in spite of my Preferences
specification of anything but that. And I do not allow sites to
use their own fonts; and

(3) how to configure keybindings so that the Home and End keys move the
cursor to the beginning and end of the line, respectively. I was
able to do that in Firefox using the Keyfixer app, but don't know
of a corresponding one for Seamonkey. The Keyconfig addon does not
seem to work with SM.

Thanks.

Dushan, do you specifically download the newsgroup posts to your hard disk for off-line reading or something?? If this is the case, then the messages are stored in a file with a name the same as the group, i.e. for this group, the messages would be downloaded into a file called mozilla.support.seamonkey.dat (at least I think the extension is dat). To delete the messages from your hard drive simply delete that file. However, most people do not download the messages to their hard drive (I used to, but not in the last couple of years), it is simply a case of when you click on a message, that particular message is downloaded into cache and displayed for you to read (so I suppose it is downloaded to your computer in the cache).

I sometimes prefer messages in a larger font than normal, so set SM to display at 120%, but even then some text displays at the 100%, because the poster has specifically set their SM to only display at the specified font size.....I guess the same happens for your font type face. Nothing you can do to overcome what the sender has specified.

Keybindings are beyond me, except to say that I think they are an OS setting, not SM.

HTH

Daniel
