Well, Google must have been doing some maintenance or something yesterday, because its working today. Also, an interesting thing I learned today, is that while setting up a new install of Thunderbird, it automatically detected Gmail's imap server as imap.googlemail.com. I don't know if that a new server, or an old one. It works, so I'm leaving it alone for now. Also, Seamonkey Mail also works today with imap.gmail.com. Lesson learned: always wait a few days, before raising a stir.
