So far, SM 2.1 has generated the largest number of problems/user
complaints I've
ever read here regarding any version/release...and it's only been a
week or so.
I already was garnering the impression that I wouldn't want to upgrade
to this
version just due to some of the structural changes in it that I've
been reading
about here, now I'm *convinced* I don't even want to take it for a
test drive on
one of my lesser used machines...
...what the heck happened?
Gee, my major complaint is that most of my add-ons no longer work.
That's not the fault of SeaMonkey. Other than that - so far I'm happy
with 2.1.
You can do a little editing for each add on and get them to work with
2.1. Message back if you're interested.
Any instructions for IE Tab+, Lightning, & PrefBar?
Same method for all three. You got to edit the install.rdf file.
Each extension has a folder in your Preferences folder. On my computer,
the one for IEtab+ is [email protected] and the one for PrefBar is all
numbers, {8A6C82A1-F6C9-481a-AAE7-C96444C9A754}, yours may be different.
Open the install.rdf file with a text editor and look for a entry like
this: <em:maxVersion>2.0</em:maxVersion>
Make sure the targetApplication is SeaMonkey. There may be other
targetApplication entries.
Change the 2.0 to 2.1. Save the file.
What I did was first save the file as install.rdf.orig.txt, in case I
screwed something up.
I'm sure somebody will let me know if I got this wrong. 8-)
